GLOBAL CANVAS INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN’S ART COMPETITION (International)

Deadline: January 31, 2019

From the David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation:

Do you work with groups of children aged 16 or under? Are you looking for a creative, fun project for children to get involved in, while inspiring them about the natural world?

The David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation is excited to announce the launch of our annual Global Canvas Children’s Art Competition 2019. The theme this year is ‘Habitats of the World’!

Shortlisted entries will be displayed at an exciting judging and prizegiving day at London’s Natural History Museum on March 7th!

The competition is FREE to enter and open to groups of children – this could be a club, class, year group or a whole school. Entrants are asked to create a mini-exhibition based on the theme, using paint, pencils, knitting, sculpture or any other techniques you can think of – we love recycled art too!

The Global Canvas competition this year will be a celebration of all the weird and wonderful places where animals make their homes – whether that’s an ocean, a desert, or even a rotting log!

The ‘Habitats of the World’ theme fits in really well with the following curriculum themes: living things and their habitats, global ecosystems and biodiversity as well as art and design.

Global Canvas gives children the chance to investigate the threats faced by wild animals and to their habitats and think about what they can do to help. Children could be encouraged to help wildlife at school or home, perhaps by planting a window box with bee friendly flowers, making bird boxes, or creating a small pond? Could your school go plastic straw or glitter free?

A photograph of your entry along with a completed entry form should be sent to us by the closing date of January 31st 2019.

Please visit our website for more details or email me at jo.elphick@davidshepherd.org with any queries.

So go on, get creative and get involved – we can’t wait to see what you come up with!

  1. Hi, my name is Henry. I am 14 years old and in year 9. I have acquired a liking for art since I was 4 and feel I am truly worthy of being in the championship. Thank you for listening.

    • Hi, I’m new here. Is there a art contest? I love to draw and paint so I went to google and search and I found this so please someone tell what to do or what’s happening here.😊

  3. I desperately want to express my message of environmentalism. I was wondering if you would be doing the contest again this year(2020) and if it would have a same or similar theme. I am a professional artist and would love to share.
