Flat Out Under Pressure

June 27-28  was my third try in the art contest in Greenville known as Flat Out Under Pressure.  Artists have 24 hours to create a piece of artwork. Like the past two years, the day filled up with so many activities that I didn’t get started on it until around 6:30 pm. But that’s okay — I still had all night, and my son Luke was detemined to stay up all night, too. He enlisted one of his sisters to stay up with him; they finally went to bed around 5:00 am, and I finished around 5:30. Here’s my piece (my rather large piece — 24″ x 48″).

I did this one in acrylic on canvas. I like how it turned out overall, though if I had more time I think there would be some things I’d change.

Well, I didn’t place, but that’s okay. It was fun to do (at least for the first 5 hours). :)  It’s on display for the month of July at the Metropolitan Arts Council Gallery in Greenville, SC.
