From the contest organizers:
David Shepherd Wildlife Foundation (DSWF) is delighted to be launching our Global Canvas 2021 children’s art competition. The theme for the 2021 competition is ‘Healing Nature – A Planet on the Edge’. We hope this theme will get children thinking about the positive impact we all can have on nature and how our collective efforts really can make a difference in healing our planet.
This worldwide competition welcomes entries from groups of children aged 16 and under. The group will need to make a mini display based on the theme.
Please CLICK HERE to see some examples of entries from previous years.
The children can use any art techniques that they like to create their entry, from painting and drawing to sculpture and sewing. The judges would also like to see some recycled materials used in the artwork display.
Under the current circumstances, we recognise that being together in a group is not always possible, in which case we would suggest that each member of a group makes their own part of the display separately. The display can then be assembled in its entirety at a later date. We look forward to seeing the innovative and creative ways the groups overcome distance and isolation through art.
Shortlisted entries will be exhibited for final judging at a prize-giving ceremony to be held at London’s Natural History Museum on Thursday, 25 March 2021*.
The deadline for entries is Wednesday, 24 February 2021, please do get in touch if you have any further questions.
